The Heart Behind SSDC
Meet the director and owner of SSDC – Miss Grace Mattingly
My name is Grace Mattingly, and I am the proud Artistic Director and owner of Street Slamin Dance Centre in East Wagga, NSW. As we celebrate our fifth successful year, I am incredibly proud of the journey so far and the exciting future still to come.
Dance has been a part of my life since the age of four, and Street Slamin represents the culmination of my lifelong passion. Over the past four years, I have dedicated myself to building a studio that reflects excellence, inclusivity, and community spirit. At SSDC, we offer a wide range of styles including Jazz, Hip Hop, Pom, Contemporary, and Broadway—ensuring every dancer receives a well-rounded dance education.
Our dancers have achieved outstanding success at local, state, and national competitions, and in 2024 we reached an incredible milestone when our teams placed first and second at “The Finals” international dance competition in Orlando, USA. Performing at both Disneyland and Universal Studios was a dream come true for our students and stands as one of the proudest achievements of my career.
Beyond the studio, I am honoured to have been awarded Wagga Wagga Business Chamber’s “Outstanding Young Business Leader of the Year,” and to have progressed as a regional finalist. I hold a Certificate III in Dance Teaching and Business Services, qualifications that support my dual passion for both the artistic and professional sides of the industry.
In addition to SSDC, I also own Venom Allstars Cheerleading—the Riverina’s leading and only competitive and recreational cheerleading gym, located just across the car park. Running two thriving businesses has allowed me to expand opportunities for young athletes in our region, while also developing my skills in leadership, management, and innovation.
At Street Slamin, my values are simple but powerful:
- Technical Excellence – delivering the highest standard of dance training.
- Supportive Environment – creating a community where every dancer feels valued.
- Passion and Dedication – instilling resilience, teamwork, and a lifelong love of dance.
- Inclusivity – ensuring that every dancer, no matter their background or skill level, has the chance to thrive.
I set high expectations for myself, my staff, and my dancers because I believe in the extraordinary potential of every student who walks through our doors. Whether you join us to compete, to perform, or simply to experience the joy of dance, Street Slamin will always be your home—a place to learn, grow, and create lifelong memories.
I am so excited for everything we will achieve together this year and beyond. Thank you for being part of the SSDC family—let’s keep shining, dancing, and reaching for the stars!
